The Daniele Family says it’s dropping plans for a Chick-fil-A in the Whole Foods Center plaza they hope to develop in Brighton.
A statement issued by Danny Daniele says they’d been working with Chick-fil-A to include one of the restaurants in the plaza on Monroe Avenue. He says with pressure being applied on the town over traffic on Monroe Avenue, it’s evident the town would never go for it. He blames that pressure on Wegmans.
Wegmans says they sent a letter stating their views to the town board last May and wonder why the Danieles keep singling them out.
The town of Greece granted developers a special use permit for a Chick-fil-A on West Ridge Road this week. Daniele says with the roadblocks in Brighton, the chain will probably settle for restaurants in Greece and Henrietta.
