The Monroe County District Attorney’s Office confirms that incidents of witness intimidation have taken place in the trial of Jalen Everett, the second of three defendants to be tried in connection with the Boys and Girls Club mass shooting on Genesee Street.
DA Sandra Doorley says a witness was punched in the face and threatened in the days before the trial started last week.
Rochester City Council President Loretta Scott and other community leaders sat in on the trial this week. Scott said she’d heard rumors of witness intimidation and they wanted to show the witnesses they had support from the community. Everett’s friends and family have been attending the trial daily.
