Cynthia Nixon was campaigning for Governor in Rochester Thursday afternoon…saying a great way to boost the economy is to boost the half of the population who traditionally is left out…the women.
Nixon spoke at the 1872 Cafe on West Main Street…which stands on the spot where Susan B. Anthony voted illegally in 1872 to push voting rights for women. She told the story of Anthony’s vote and her arrest….and said Women are still fighting to be full and equal citizens under the law. She said as the home of the modern feminist movement, it’s about time New York State had a woman governor.
This was Nixon’s first visit to Western New York since kicking off her campaign two weeks ago
