Governor Cuomo has signed the bill legalizing fantasy sports gaming in New York State. The law declares the online games run by FanDuel and Draft Kings to be games of skill, rather than chance, getting around the state constitution.
FanDuel says it’s working to get its contests live for New Yorkers, and Draft Kings is expected to do the same.
The companies will have to register with the State Gaming Commission and operate under their regulations. The state expects they’ll generate about $4 million of revenue per year for state education aid.
