A new Siena Poll finds Governor Cuomo’s favorability rating has rebounded from its low in July. New Yorkers now think well of the governor by a 56-37 percent margin, up four points from his lowest level of the year two months ago.
And a majority of voters seem ready to elect Andrew Cuomo to a third term as governor although they still give him a negative job performance rating. Siena finds just 43-to-55 percent think Cuomo is doing a good job; 48 percent say they’d vote Cuomo if they election were held today to 44 percent who want someone else.
Cuomo gets negatives on specific issues including taxes and the economy, infrastructure, mass transit and primary education. Most of the opposition comes from Upstate, with the increase in his numbers mainly from Downstate and from Republicans.
