Governor Cuomo says hate crimes are on the increase nationwide and across New York State…and it has to stop.
The governor says he’s setting aside 25 million dollars to help religious schools, mosques and Jewish community centers beef up security. He’s also adding a five-thousand dollar reward for hate crime convictions.
Governor Cuomo says this threat is real, with bomb threats phoned in recent days to JCC’s in New York City, Syracuse and Buffalo. Religious institutions deemed to be at risk will be able to access funds for security guards, tougher doors, security systems and so forth.
