Governor Andrew Cuomo says Phase 3 of reopening may go forward on Friday for the Rochester-Finger Lakes Region as well as four other regions of the state.
That means restaurants may reopen their indoor seating areas, providing they maintain social distancing of 6 feet between tables and staff masks up. Personal care businesses such as nail salons and spas may open, with 50 percent of their usual capacity and again staff wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.
Cuomo urges everyone to follow the guidelines listed on the state website.
Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce President Bob Duffy says Phase 3 does not include indoor shopping malls, youth sports or fitness facilities. He says if coronavirus infection rates stay low, the governor may decide to let those facilities open ahead of Phase 4, which is scheduled for two weeks from now.
