Governor Andrew Cuomo says the Western New York and Capital Regions of New York State are nearly ready to reopen, lacking only more COVID-19 disease tracers to meet all seven of the state’s criteria. He said those will soon be hired.

The governor says it’s now critical to get as many people tested for the coronavirus as possible. He says there are now more than 700 testing sites across the state, capable of performing more than 40,000 tests per day. But some drive-through centers that could see 15,000 people a day are only testing 5,000.

Cuomo had himself tested during his Sunday afternoon briefing to make his point.
