Rowena Bennett is 89, but she stood erect and smiling at today’s press conference announcing the arrest of her son’s murderer.

Richard Batzel was dropping off a car payment at the Xerox Federal Credit Union 13 years and two months ago when he was allegedly shot and killed by holdup suspect Richard Leon Wilbern. Today Bennet says she prayed she would live long enough to see this case come to justice, but she’s not ready to forgive. She had thanks for everyone involved in tracking down her son’s killer.

Batzel’s sister,  Diana Powers, brought a special contribution to the news conference: bowls of M&Ms. She says Ray Batzel was an M&Ms fanatic and every family occasion had to have them.

Powers says this was a very dusty case, but there was a diamond at the end of it.
