A crash between a car and an ambulance took a woman’s life early Thursday morning in Rochester. Police have charged 19-year-old driver Jamila Evans with DWI, Vehicular Manslaughter and various traffic offenses.
Killed was 23-year-old Autumn Johnson, a back seat passenger in Evans’ car.
Police say the crash happened about 1:30 a.m. near North Goodman Street and Central Park. The ambulance was on its way to a call and was not transporting a patient at the time of the crash.
Police say there were three people in the car. A 24-year-old Rochester woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 19-year-old Irondequoit woman wasn’t injured. Two staffers on the ambulance were taken to the hospital for treatment and will recover.

Police say there were three people in the car. A 243-year-old Rochester woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 19-year-old Irondequoit woman wasn’t injured. The third person in the car was a 23-year-old city woman who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two staffers on the ambulance were taken to the hospital for treatment and will recover.
