New York State Police say two people were injured, one of them seriously, when a car smashed into a tree on the Lake Ontario State Parkway in Greece.
Troopers say it happened shortly after midnight Tuesday, when a car driven by 20-year-old L. H. Wannamaker-Decapu drove off the right shoulder near Manitou Beach Road and hit the tree. The impact caused the car to break apart.
Wannamaker-Decapu went to Strong Hospital with less serious injuries. Passenger Jacqueline Rogers of Hilton suffered serious injuries and is also at Strong.
Troopers believe wet roads and speed may have been factors in the crash, and charges are pending.
