A chain-reaction accident involving motorcycles and an SUV left two people injured Sunday evening on Route 104 in Irondequoit.
New York State Police say 23-year-old Robert Kitchen Jr. of Greece was riding a motorcycle on 104 near the 590 on ramp when he crashed into the back of an SUV going in the same direction. The impact threw Kitchen off his bike and onto the highway. A driver following the motorcycle swerved to avoid hitting him, but the car sideswiped another motorcycle, this one driven by 38-year-old Hakila Phllips of Rochester. She was thrown from her motorcycle as well.
Phillips was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to recover. Kitchen suffered an arm injury. The drivers of the car and the SUV were also taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Troopers charged Kitchen with riding without a license and failure to have an ignition interlock device.
