All youth hockey games and tournaments in Monroe County will be suspended starting Tuesday, after 27 COVID-19 cases were linked to a youth hockey tournament at the Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex in Henrietta. About 240 players, coaches and fans attended the event over the weekend.

Monroe County Health Commissioner Dr. Michael Mendoza says the Health Department has withdrawn permission for youth ice hockey. That includes practice, scrimmages, games and tournaments. This applies to all K-12 public and private school hockey teams plus club teams. Dr. Mendoza says the situation will be reviewed in two weeks.

The Health Department says anyone who was at the Bill Gray’s Iceplex on Saturday, March 27 and Sunday, March 28 should immediately self-quarantine and contact the Monroe County COVID Hotline at 585-753-5555 as soon as possible.
