There’s more evidence that the COVID-19 Omicron wave is subsiding across New York State. 

State Health Department numbers released Sunday show new COVID cases down by more than half from the previous week. New COVID hospitalizations are down by more than 25 percent compared to a week ago, and the statewide positivity rate is now hovering just below eight percent. Two weeks ago it was more than 20 percent.

there were 134 COVID deaths statewide yesterday. 

Central New York now has the densest number of cases per 100,000 people. The Rochester area and Western New York are now below the statewide average.
