Governor Andrew Cuomo says new COVID-19 infections continue to drop across New York State, hospitalizations continue trending down and the number of deaths from the virus at 166 Tuesday-to-Wednesday remains below 200 (at 166). But cases of a newly-discovered COVID-19 linked syndrome in children are on the increase, and are being discovered in other states and overseas as well.

The governor says 102 children have now been diagnosed with inflammation of the blood vessels similar to Kawasaki Disease. It can infect the heart, and 70 percent of the children diagnosed with it have ended up in the Intensive Care Unit. All tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies.

Fourteen other states are now investigating cases of this disease as are five European countries.
