The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in New York State is now 105 according to Governor Andrew Cuomo. State Police are being used to carry test kits down the Thruway to the state’s Wadsworth Lab in Albany.

None of the confirmed cases are in the Rochester area or Western New York; most are downstate in Westchester County.

Meanwhile, the governor on Sunday blasted the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for not allowing the state to bring private labs in to test the Coronavirus kits. Cuomo said the labs, including one at the University of Rochester, are well equipped and can set up automated testing to speed up the process.

Cuomo had previously declared a state of emergency on Saturday, calling it an administrative tool to speed up purchase of necessary equipment and supplies.
