PHILADELPHIA, PA. — Sean Couturier scored two goals to help the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-1 win against the Buffalo Sabres at Wells Fargo Center on Sunday.

Shayne Gostisbehere and Ivan Provorov scored and Michal Neuvirth made 30 saves in his first start since Nov. 28 for Philadelphia (19-15-8), which won its third straight game and second in as many days after a 6-3 win against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.

Neuvirth missed a month because of a lower-body injury, and after being activated from injured reserve Dec. 26, played one period in the previous four games, replacing Brian Elliott in the third period of a 5-1 loss against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday.

It was the final game for the Flyers before their five-day break.

Ryan O’Reilly scored for the Sabres (10-23-9) and Robin Lehner made 25 saves.

O’Reilly gave the Sabres a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at 1:50 of the second period. Jack Eichel knocked down the rebound of a Rasmus Ristolainen point shot on the left side and cycled it back to O’Reilly, who beat Neuvirth to the short side, over his right shoulder.

Gostisbehere tied the game for the Flyers at 1-1 when he took a drop pass from Scott Laughton and beat Lehner from the inside edge of the left circle at 3:42.

The Flyers went ahead 2-1 on Couturier’s power-play goal. Jakub Voracek passed to Claude Giroux behind the Sabres net. He came out on the left side and passed to Couturier for a one-timer that went in to the far side, past Lehner’s glove at 7:17.

Couturier and Provorov scored empty-net goals in the final 1:15 of the third period.
