Papers filed in court say the man accused in the fatal shooting of a Rochester police officer and the wounding of his partner intended to kill both officers.

Kelvin Vickers, 21, was arraigned on charges of second degree murder and second degree attempted murder, plus other charges, on Saturday. The Boston man was arrested within an hour of the shootings last week that took the life of Officer Tony Mazurkiewicz and wounded Officer Sino Seng. Both were in a car keeping track of murder suspects when Vickers fired 16 shots at them from the concealment of some bushes near the car.

Vickers’ case is going to a grand jury, so it’s likely a hearing scheduled for Wednesday will be waived.
