The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says a couple escaped when their home in Farmington caught fire Sunday afternoon.
The owners got out of the house on County Road 8, but their two dogs died in the fire. Nobody else was hurt.
Authorities believe it started near a wood stove in the basement but the cause remains under investigation.
