A Churchville couple has been charged with second degree manslaughter in the death of a ten-year-old boy back in June. Dolfona Grayson and Walter Morse were arraigned on the felony charges this afternoon, after a sealed indictment was opened in County Court.
Morse was also arraigned on a list of other charges including attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and various drug charges. Prosecutor Sara Van Strydonck says they stem from an incident in Rochester. VanStrydonck says the allegation is that Morse tried to kill Michael Coles, who was a witness in the case against him.
Coles is the biological father of J’Vieon Grayson-Sutton, who died a day after being found unconscious by his younger brother in the home where Morse and Grayson lived on Fitch Street in Churchville.
The prosecutor said in court that he died of a fentanyl overdose while Morse was supposed to be watching him.
