Park police worked with the Cuylerville and Mt. Morris Fire Departments to bring the couple and their dogs out of the gorge. Police said the couple was walking their dogs in the park when they ran off about 4:50 p.m. The couple chased after the dogs, and all four of them ended up falling off the gorge rim. One person was able to make it back up the side of the gorge and call for help.

Park Police said in a news release the couple and the dogs fell about half-way down the 400 foot gorge wall. Firefighters brought them up with a rope rescue, with help from a police helicopter. All escaped any serious injuries.
