Monroe County Officials have rolled out a plan for a modernization of the Greater Rochester International Airport.
Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and airport officials say the plan is in response to the state’s offer of $190 million to improve Upstate New York airports. The Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization Competition is looking for projects of up to $40 million.
The county’s plan is for a “smart terminal” that has improved access and signage…a new cell phone lot before drivers come to the terminal so they can wait to pick up their party…a canopy over the arrival and departure areas…security upgrades…improvements for passengers with disabilities…and a marketplace area with children’s play zones and lounge seating.
