Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo has made two key public safety appointments: Timothy Kohlmeier as Deputy Public Safety Director, and Steve Schalabba as Monroe County Fire Coordinator.
Deputy Director is a new position. Kohlmeier will directly oversee both the county Office of Emergency Management, the County Fire Bureau and the Office of Emergency Medical Services. The idea is to bring all three together.
Schalabba is taking over for Sam DeRosa, who recently became the North Greece Fire Chief.
Both men have extensive experience in fire service and emergency response with local fire departments.
