Monroe County Executive Adam Bello says COVID mass vaccination sites will return to the county next month as it gears up to handle COVID booster shots.

Bello says the county is looking for a place to hold the mass clinics and hiring staff ranging from medical techs to clerical workers.

Bello says this will be even bigger than the initial round of vaccines, which went at a known pace and were given at the Dome Center in Henrietta and downtown at the Riverside Convention Center. He said it will be a Herculean effort because a lot of people will be compressed into a short period of time.

Monroe County reported 99 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. Health Commissioner Dr. Michael Mendoza says that’s the first time in weeks the daily count has gone below 100, but is higher than a year ago.
