The Monroe County Legislature Tuesday night approved a measure raising the rates paid to Preschool Special Education Service Providers by 15 percent. It’s the first increase in their compensation in a decade.
The measure passed on a bipartisan vote.
County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo called on state lawmakers to follow suit by fully funding its Early Intervention Program for children with special needs. It serves special needs children between the ages of three and five. Preschool Education often identifies children who need those services.
