The man convicted of shooting a Rochester police officer in the head back in 2009 is back in trouble again; under arrest for violating parole.

Tyquan Rivera was 14 when he shot Officer Anthony DiPonzio as the officer talked with a group of people on Dayton Street during a drug investigation. Rivera is now 22. He was released last July after serving three-and-a-half to ten years in prison as a juvenile. He was sent to live at an undisclosed location in Erie County.

13 WHAM says it’s seen Erie County jail records that show Rivera was arrested for violating the conditions of his release on January 11th.

Officer DiPonzio survived the shooting but spent two years in recovery and rehab before going back to work in 2011.
