A Caledonia man found guilty of bilking his customers on home improvement projects has been sentenced to three-to-six years in prison.

Kurt Kline took some $190,000 from seven customers around Livingston County, signing contracts for home remodeling and other jobs that he started and never finished. Kline said through his attorney that he’s guilty only of being a poor businessman and he intends to pay everyone back.

Jim Krause…who hired Kline to renovate their Conesus Lake Home two years ago…says he doesn’t expect to see it.

Prosecutor Josh Tonra bluntly says Kline is a con man.

Kline has paid back about $40,000 to the people he defrauded. He still owes $153,000 more.
