Constellation Brands reports a strong third quarter for 2017, with solid growth in its beer, wine and spirits business.

The report says Constellation’s beer brands including Corona and Modelo Especial drove 80 percent of the growth in the total U.S. beer market and grew depletions by more than nine percent.

“Depletions growth” is a brewing term. It refers to the rate at which product leaves the distributor’s warehouse en route to the consumers who buy and drink it. So growing depletions are good in this case.

Constellation says its wine and spirits producers posted double digit depletion growth. But sales were short of what the company predicted although profits were strong.
