A hydroponics company had bailed on plans to build a huge greenhouse in Webster after running a gauntlet of opposition from neighboring residents.

Intergrow Greenhouses wanted to build 75 acres of greenhouses to grow tomatoes on a former farm at Salt and State Roads in Webster. Neighbors said it was inappropriate for the area.

Town Supervisor Ron Nesbitt says Intergrow has decided not to bring the issue back before the planning board. Instead, they’re looking at a new site across the Wayne County Line in the neighboring Town of Ontario. That town’s supervisor says it’s on Timothy lane north of Route 104 in an industrial-zoned area.
