A collection of silver coins was returned to an elderly Greece woman and a Henrietta man has been arrested by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office for stealing them from her home.
The sheriff’s office says 30-year-old Travis Hirschfelt was charged with criminal possession of stolen property after the coins were found in his tool kit. He’s suspected of stealing them while laying carpet for 84-year-old Pamela Kane of Greece. The coins belonged to her late husband.
They were found October 9th when a Monroe County Deputy was called to the Grand Vi Nursing Home in Penfield and assisted an employer who was telling a disgruntled contractor to take his tools and get out of his work van. The contractor was Hirschfelt, and the deputy noticed the coin collection among his belongings.
