The Supervisor of Clarkson has resigned after a year in office, citing personal reasons.

In a statement, Democrat Jerry Underwood said he’s grateful to the people who voted for him and placed their trust in him. Underwood won election in 2017, beating long-time Republican Supervisor Paul Kimball.

On Tuesday night, the Clarkson Town Board named Republican council member Christina Filipowicz to replace Underwood. She’ll serve the remaining year of his term, then run for re-election this coming fall.
