City Hall has released its request for proposals to redevelop the 800 block of North Clinton Avenue in Rochester into the long-awaited “La Marketa” project.
Mayor Lovely Warren’s office says they want proposals for sale and redevelopment of the land in that block for small business commercial or mixed use, as a Latin American village plaza. A committee of neighborhood leaders and residents worked with city officials on the concept for La Marketa. They want it to be both a commercial and cultural center for Rochester’s Hispanic population….the fastest growing segment of the city.
The site is 1.7 acres and has already been cleared and cleaned up for redevelopment by the city.
