The City of Rochester and Baber AME Church will hold a “Rise Up Rochester” Gun Violence Awareness Month event Tuesday evening at the church on Meigs Street, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

A news release from City Hall says “gun violence continues to take an immeasurable toll on our city and we must continue working to bring it to an end.”

Rochester Police will open the session with an update on gun violence for the first half of 2017 and what they’re doing about it. Participants will then break into groups and work on ideas and initiatives that might help and also help draw in more members of the community.
