The team has until Feb. 28 to vacate the facility.

ROCHESSTER, N.Y. — The City of Rochester has told the Rochester Rhinos soccer team to be out of Capelli Sport Stadium by the end of February.

The eviction notice was sent in a letter to Rhinos owners David and Wendy Dworkin. The Dworkins have announced the Rhinos won’t field a team this year while they try to recover from financial problems. They hope to bring other teams to play some matches in Rochester, and remain in good standing with the USL.

But the city says not playing puts the team in violation of its lease agreement and wants the Rhinos out of the stadium by midnight on Feb 28.

The Dworkins say they will fight the eviction.
