Rochester’s Economic Development Corporation, REDCO, is now the owner of the Bulls Head Plaza on West Main Street in Rochester. Mayor Warren’s office says the city took action to prevent more businesses from leaving and to advance efforts to revitalize the neighborhood around West Main and Genesee Streets.

In a statement, the mayor says Bulls Head Plaza has been neglected for too long and the city wants to end its cycle of decline so it can be a prominent part of the western gateway to downtown.

The city and REDCO paid $1 million for the four-acre plaza to keep it out of the hands of an ownership group they say has a reputation of making minimal investments into its properties. The city plans an upgrade as part of the Bulls Head Revitalization Project.
