The State Education Department says nine out of ten Rochester City Schools placed on receivership by the state have made improvements. The tenth has closed.
NYSED says schools placed into Receivership have been identified by the Commissioner as either Struggling or Persistently Struggling. State officials say 49 out of 52 schools in receivership have made demonstrable improvement in the 2017-18 school year.
The three other schools on the list that did not make improvements are all in Syracuse, and will be placed under independent receivership.
