Rochester high school students began riding RTS transit buses to school on Monday, as the City School District continues to grapple with a shortage of school bus drivers.
The district says it had no resignations in the last 48 hours, but absences among drivers that would have been considered normal in the past caused schedule slowdowns on Monday. Delays of up to 1½ hours were reported because no substitute drivers could be found. The district says this is going to continue when drivers are absent until things get back to normal.
