There will be no return to the classroom anytime soon for Rochester city school students. The RCSD says they will stay with remote learning for the rest of 2020. In-person classes may resume in January if COVID-19 infection rates are lower.
The district says students with disabilities in special programs will be given a chance for some in-class learning for four days each week, beginning in January. This applies to all grade levels.
Superintendent Lesli Myers-Small says they came to this decision after looking at what other school districts in the area and around the country are doing, plus consultation with Monroe County Health Officials.
