The Rochester School Board is starting a search for a new board member to fill the seat that will be left vacant, now that Malik Evans has been elected to City Council.
The board has to make a temporary appointment to fill the seat and is accepting applications as of today. They have to make an appointment by the end of the year, and the person they select will have to run in the 2018 general election if they want to stay on the board through the the end of Evans’ term, which is in December of 2019.
To serve on the City School Board you have to be at least 18, a legal resident of the city, a U.S. Citizen and not employed by the school district.
Applications are made to the district clerk.
