Now that the east side of the Inner Loop is filled in and the new surface boulevard is being built, the city is seeking $2 million in state funding to support development along the newly created street.
Legislation approved last week by city council started the application process for state economic development funds. The city says there are five projects from different developers for the five parcels of land designated along the new street.
City officials interviewed the development teams last week. Details of the projects haven’t been released, but developers include Home Leasing, which is developing the Charlotte Square project in the East End.
