The Rochester City Council has received legislation from Mayor Lovely Warren to sell four municipally-owned parcels of land to advance redevelopment of the former Inner Loop.

Two of the parcels are owned by the city and two by its Urban Redevelopment Corporation. Together, Konar Development Corporation and the Strong Museum plan to develop a project that combines expansion of the museum with a mixed-use residential and retail block.

The project will include 250 family housing units, 17,000 feet of retail space, a new hotel and parking garage and a new street where the Inner Loop highway once ran.

The Konar-Strong Museum partnership will pay $2 million for the four parcels. A public hearing on the deal will be held August 10th.
