The City of Rochester has begun a crackdown on people who ride their unregistered dirt bikes and ATVs on city streets, conducting a detail that seized four illegal bikes.
Large numbers of riders have been running through red lights, disrupting traffic and stunting on city streets. The detail Monday night was part of the RPD’s plan to curtail the illegal and dangerous behavior. Two people have died in crashes on illegal dirt bikes last month.
The RPD says they are also launching a joint venture with suburban police agencies and they request that anyone seeing illegal dirt bikes or ATVs racing on city streets call 911.
