A two-alarm fire lit the night sky at 15 Edwards St. early Monday morning.
The Rochester Fire Department says they were called about 3:30 a.m. for the blaze in a large 2½ story house. They arrived to find heavy fire coming from the first, second and attic floors of the building. They called a second alarm and fought the fire from outside as the attic and parts of the second floor collapsed.
The house was being renovated and nobody should have been there, but neighbors reported a couple was squatting in the building. A search didn’t find anyone, and no injuries were reported.
The house will have to be demolished.
