The City of Rochester and the Coalition for Police Reform are creating a Community Justice Advisory Board….which will review the video recorded by police-worn body cameras in Rochester.

Ten members from the Coalition and the Police Department will view the video, and the Reverend Lewis Stewart says it should improve Police-Community relations. Mayor Lovely Warren says this is formalizing what has been an informal agreement on information sharing.

But the union representing patrol officers isn’t thrilled with the idea. Mike Mazzeo heads the Police Locust Club. He says having people who aren’t familiar with police procedures and don’t know what they’re looking at isn’t a good idea.
