If the Rochester City Council approves, the city will enter into a long-term agreement with Pegula Sports and Entertainment to operate the Blue Cross Arena.
Legislation sent by Mayor Lovely Warren to City Council provides for a 15 year agreement to operate the arena and the adjacent Civic Center Garage. That includes concessions, ticketing, security and events booking. The Pegulas will pay the city $60,000 a year and the city will continue to get a slice of the ticket revenues, through a user fee added onto the ticket price.
The Pegulas are forming a company called Rochester Arena to manage the Blue Cross. RA and the City will each contribute $3 million for capital improvements to the arena during the 15 years of the contract.
City Council will take up the agreement this month.
