Officials of the Rochester City School District faced intensive questioning from the City Council last night as School Superintendent Terry Dade tried to explain how the district overspent by some $30 million.

Council’s finance committee called the meeting over concerns about how the city’s $119 million annual contribution to city schools is being spent.

Council President Loretta Scott said the district’s financial procedures will change, because the current situation cannot continue.
