The Rochester City Council Tuesday night voted to divert $750,000 in funding from the Police Accountability Board, and spent it instead on improving emergency housing for the homeless at Peace Village on Industrial Street.
The unspent funding will be used to hire a company to build and install 15 small housing units, each containing two beds. Two bathroom units will be built and a small community space as well. The vote to approve the change was 8-1.
They also approved an agreement with Person Centered Housing Options to oversee and maintain the project.
