The City of Rochester is looking for a new developer for the proposed residential-commercial project at the Port of Rochester.

City Hall says Edgewater Resources has failed to meet today’s deadline to submit details on how it would pay for the multi-story development next to the city’s new marina. The mayor’s office says Edgewater asked instead for another nine months to secure financing package.

Mayor Lovely Warren says that means their project won’t move forward and she’s directed her staff to seek new proposals for the roughly three acre site in Charlotte.

The city wants a mixed residential and commercial project next to the new $22 million marina that just opened and the river promenade, south of Ontario Beach Park.

Mayor Warren says Edgewater’s failure to meet the deadline means the city needs to move on to protect the interests of its taxpayers.
