A vacant house on Jefferson Avenue in Rochester was destroyed by fire early Christmas morning.
The 2.5 story house was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived, forcing them to fight the fire from outside. The fire began spreading to the houses next door, leading to a second and third alarm.
Crews were able to save the neighboring houses, but the vacant house collapsed and was left a pile of burning wreckage. Crews had the fire under control in 35 minutes, and nobody was hurt.
The homes on either side were saved.
