A Chili man is charged with attempted robbery after Monroe County Deputies identified him as the man who allegedly tried to hold up the K-Mart store on Paul Road in Chili earlier this week.

A store clerk told investigators a man threatened her with a knife and demanded money, but eventually ran when she couldn’t get the drawer open. Another employee saw the suspect leave the plaza in a black Cadillac. That second employee also got the license plate, which led deputies to a home on Wind Willow Way. They found the Cadillac, and then saw two men leaving the house. Both were detained, and one was identified as the suspect. The other man turned out to have no connection with the crime.

Deputies arrested 37-year-old Christopher Alfieri. He’s being held on $15,000 bail.
